The Tale of C2E2 (The Final Chapter)

Dawn broke yet again on the third day of C2E2.

Again, later, The Kelly awoke.

A queen was present this day.  While The Kelly attempted to engage her in conversation, she remained focused on a strange device and indicated she had issues to resolve regarding a trade federation.

On the day, many heros still remained on the grounds of C2E2.  Some were round...

Some less so....

And some were frozen...

As he wandered the now familiar territory, The Kelly came upon the magician Sir Anthony of Kosar, a very pleasant man who had won a great contest of skill...

Yet, not all greeted The Kelly with the same level of excitement...

Yet a third day The Kelly strode to the wall of greetings, where he added to his latest inscription honoring the House of Snark.

Next he enjoyed two wonderful meetings where each assembled group were merry, kind to strangers, and spun tales of great interest.

The first of which were Ambassadors of Defiance...

Then those of the Warehouse in the 13th land held court.  This particular event was full of much laughter,  mostly caused by a playful rogue called Eddie.  An intriguing tale mentioning Alice the Cooper greatly pleased The Kelly, as you would expect.

Sadly, the time had come for The Kelly to depart.  The knights of Uber returned to take him to the iron horse stable. The stable was overjoyed with The Kelly's return and released fowl to honor the event.

It was a wonderful trip full of friends and fun.  Even though The Kelly was forced to journey home next to a companion who was a NEVER ENDING flood of words (seriously, OMG, words words words words words words, I am fairly sure she never breathed), he stayed of good cheer.  Pretty much.

And as for the horse head mask, The Kelly decided the gold he used to secure fine art for his clan was gold enough to spend.

Maybe next year.

The Tale of C2E2 (Part 2)

Dawn broke of the second day.

Later, The Kelly got up.

As he made his way to the gates of C2E2 once more, he faced the dreaded troop of Storm Guards.

They refused his entry, but The Kelly knew them well and ran in none the less.  They fired their weapons - never nearing the mark.  Typical.

On this day The Kelly honored the traditions of the people of C2E2 and dressed in disguise.  For this day he chosen to replicate the appearance of Jayne from the plains of Firefly.  Mel of Corgi had assisted The Kelly by creating a headdress consistent with the traditions of the Firefly people.  It was a fine and cunning headdress, and large as well, as this was required. Once inside the gate The Kelly greeted the town ghost, per custom.

After much searching, The Kelly found Jeans the Red who had also traveled to C2E2 with her people. There was great rejoicing

Attired as one of the plain dwellers of Firefly it took little time for The Kelly to find others who had chosen to do the same.  Shiney.

The second day of C2E2 brought many more people than the first.  The dead walked among the living.  Hair of every color could be found.  Oddly, many had chosen to wear garb that pulled tight, and sometimes seemed to be under the most dire of stress.

Oh, and there were gods...

Not only could every shade of colored hair be found, the same held true for skin of many...

As with day one, once more The Kelly left the mark of the House of Snark

As was his habit on the first day, the Kelly attended several meetings by the fire where stories were told.  RJ of Mitte, a young lad of a mere 20 plus some seasons, won the day.  Kind, articulate, and thoughtful - his meeting with the C2E2 people was truly a pleasure.

The only small event that marred this discussion was when Walt the Methodian tried to enter the room. While he knocked and then threaded lightly, he was summarily dispatched over his shouts for some wizard called Saul.

As the day wore on, The Kelly became tired.  He let his guard down and much to his surprise he ended up face to face with death incarnate.

Oddly, death incarnate was a friendly and jovial type.  He and The Kelly had a very enjoyable chat.  Death took notes on The Kelly's many "enemies of the state" and promised to visit these unpleasant vermin at his earliest convenience.  Being all-powerful, he knew that he and The Kelly's paths would cross.  In anticipation of this event he had prepared a scroll that offered the soundest wisdom one could receive...

As the second night ended, The Kelly still had no horse head mask, and his dismay on this choice continued to grow.

The Tale of C2E2 (Part 1)

The Kelly departed the village of Bloom on a bright sunny morn.  Much to his dismay as he boarded the iron horse, he discovered the only saddle he could secure without a traveling companion (The Kelly values not nearby companions) was of the smallest of nature.  This made access to his book of chrome difficult, but as with the many challenges he had faced, he persevered.

The iron horse had made peace with the goddess Wifi and this pleased The Kelly.  Upon arrival on the outskirts of the land of C2E2, he made camp the largest of iron horse stables. A man who honored his duties, he communed with the Conference of Call per obligations of his employ.  It appeared others had made camp there as well, but had to depart in haste

The highly reliable knights of Uber then spirited The Kelly to Lord Hyatt's castle that overlooked the Fields of McCormick and C2E2.  He arrived at the gates prepared for adventure.

The land of C2E2 was full of many shopkeepers.  Many of the wares appealed to The Kelly.  Many, many of the wares.

He reluctantly left the shops, promising to return, but he had larger business to attend to.  Past the cactus, a gift to all mankind, was Sir Mick of Foley.  Mick and The Kelly chatted warmly and Sir Mick inscribed his tome to commemorate the event.

The Kelly then hunted some wild Gyros that frequent the Fields of McCormick and dined. The Mad Scott, Baron Brave, had sent message that The Kelly should place the mark of House Snarkalec in the public square.  His will was done.

Later The Kelly gathered around the fires of many storytellers.  One of the C2E2 nobles, Lady Yaya, had chosen to celebrate the gathering by dressing as if she were a bat and posed for the crowds to observe her in her finery

After gathering around the final fire of the night, the evening ended with the thought that had plagued The Kelly all day...

"Do I want, or do I need, a horse head mask?"
