Your Stupid #1 by Kate and Kelly
Katie Frost (@katefrost_inc) and I have been exchanging demotivational tweets with each other over the past few weeks.
We decided this would be a "fun" way to share them with a wider, completely indifferent audience.

Stuff and thangs...
There have been a few changes in the Thul multimedia juggernaut and I thought I would catch everyone up.
Snarkalec Radio
After two extremely fun years, Snarkalec Radio ended in December. I really enjoyed doing the show with Tony (@tonysolo) and Mel, and then later with Tony and Mike (@officialpagan). We had some awesome guests and awesome times. It just came to the point where a weekly 90 minute live show was going to be tough for any of us to sustain. Special thanks to Tony for asking me to join the crew when it all started.
Mike,Tony and I still recap the YouTube masterpiece "The Assistant" via a show called "Talking Assistant". You can find both shows on Dylan Lange's Assistant playlist on his YouTube Channel.
Nurture and Support
Mel (@karmic9) and I continue to "share all the awesome" each Friday when we release the latest episode of the "Nurture and Support" podcast. If you are not familiar, we share recommendations on books, apps, movies, TV shows, etc. - as well as social media recommendations. You can connect with us via iTunes, Stitcher, and the shows will also run on Live 365's "Loud N Loaded" internet radio channel.
Bring Out Your Geek
Inexplicably, I have now also joined the "Bring Out Your Geek" videocast. Why inexplicably??
- I have a face made for radio
- The Bring Out Your Geek ringleader is Jeans (@yeungjeans) and she holds the title of NEMESIS OF THE STATE!
As you all know, I am a gentle, kind person on social media. With no provocation whatsoever, people are often mean to me and when they are, I list them as ENEMIES OF THE STATE!! via a Twitter list. Those that are exceptionally evil are also added to the ULTRA ENEMIES OF THE STATE!! list. The most vile earns the right to be placed on a one person list, the aforementioned NEMESIS OF THE STATE! The aforementioned Jeans.
Nemesis thing aside, I'll be joining Jeans, Bronwyn (@shinybabyb), as well as that Mel character to talk movies, TV and the like. I am very excited that Jeans and I decided to revisit The Walking Dead comic. These episodes are coming out very soon and we will tackle 4-5 issues a show.

When ZNation is running, or when SyFy decides to give us a new original movie on a Saturday, Amy (@Amy_Glitters) and I will continue team up to provide a stream of hilarious puns. At least we think so. And... yes, I KNOW Amy is funnier.
And that all I have to say about all that.

The Tale of C2E2 (The Final Chapter)
Dawn broke yet again on the third day of C2E2.
Again, later, The Kelly awoke.
A queen was present this day. While The Kelly attempted to engage her in conversation, she remained focused on a strange device and indicated she had issues to resolve regarding a trade federation.
Then those of the Warehouse in the 13th land held court. This particular event was full of much laughter, mostly caused by a playful rogue called Eddie. An intriguing tale mentioning Alice the Cooper greatly pleased The Kelly, as you would expect.
Sadly, the time had come for The Kelly to depart. The knights of Uber returned to take him to the iron horse stable. The stable was overjoyed with The Kelly's return and released fowl to honor the event.

On the day, many heros still remained on the grounds of C2E2. Some were round...
Some less so....
As he wandered the now familiar territory, The Kelly came upon the magician Sir Anthony of Kosar, a very pleasant man who had won a great contest of skill...
Yet, not all greeted The Kelly with the same level of excitement...
Yet a third day The Kelly strode to the wall of greetings, where he added to his latest inscription honoring the House of Snark.
Next he enjoyed two wonderful meetings where each assembled group were merry, kind to strangers, and spun tales of great interest.
The first of which were Ambassadors of Defiance...

It was a wonderful trip full of friends and fun. Even though The Kelly was forced to journey home next to a companion who was a NEVER ENDING flood of words (seriously, OMG, words words words words words words, I am fairly sure she never breathed), he stayed of good cheer. Pretty much.
And as for the horse head mask, The Kelly decided the gold he used to secure fine art for his clan was gold enough to spend.
Maybe next year.

The Tale of C2E2 (Part 2)
Dawn broke of the second day.
Later, The Kelly got up.
As he made his way to the gates of C2E2 once more, he faced the dreaded troop of Storm Guards.
They refused his entry, but The Kelly knew them well and ran in none the less. They fired their weapons - never nearing the mark. Typical.
On this day The Kelly honored the traditions of the people of C2E2 and dressed in disguise. For this day he chosen to replicate the appearance of Jayne from the plains of Firefly. Mel of Corgi had assisted The Kelly by creating a headdress consistent with the traditions of the Firefly people. It was a fine and cunning headdress, and large as well, as this was required. Once inside the gate The Kelly greeted the town ghost, per custom.
Oddly, death incarnate was a friendly and jovial type. He and The Kelly had a very enjoyable chat. Death took notes on The Kelly's many "enemies of the state" and promised to visit these unpleasant vermin at his earliest convenience. Being all-powerful, he knew that he and The Kelly's paths would cross. In anticipation of this event he had prepared a scroll that offered the soundest wisdom one could receive...
As the second night ended, The Kelly still had no horse head mask, and his dismay on this choice continued to grow.

After much searching, The Kelly found Jeans the Red who had also traveled to C2E2 with her people. There was great rejoicing
Attired as one of the plain dwellers of Firefly it took little time for The Kelly to find others who had chosen to do the same. Shiney.
The second day of C2E2 brought many more people than the first. The dead walked among the living. Hair of every color could be found. Oddly, many had chosen to wear garb that pulled tight, and sometimes seemed to be under the most dire of stress.
Oh, and there were gods...
Not only could every shade of colored hair be found, the same held true for skin of many...
As with day one, once more The Kelly left the mark of the House of Snark
As was his habit on the first day, the Kelly attended several meetings by the fire where stories were told. RJ of Mitte, a young lad of a mere 20 plus some seasons, won the day. Kind, articulate, and thoughtful - his meeting with the C2E2 people was truly a pleasure.
The only small event that marred this discussion was when Walt the Methodian tried to enter the room. While he knocked and then threaded lightly, he was summarily dispatched over his shouts for some wizard called Saul.
As the day wore on, The Kelly became tired. He let his guard down and much to his surprise he ended up face to face with death incarnate.

The Tale of C2E2 (Part 1)
The Kelly departed the village of Bloom on a bright sunny morn. Much to his dismay as he boarded the iron horse, he discovered the only saddle he could secure without a traveling companion (The Kelly values not nearby companions) was of the smallest of nature. This made access to his book of chrome difficult, but as with the many challenges he had faced, he persevered.
The iron horse had made peace with the goddess Wifi and this pleased The Kelly. Upon arrival on the outskirts of the land of C2E2, he made camp the largest of iron horse stables. A man who honored his duties, he communed with the Conference of Call per obligations of his employ. It appeared others had made camp there as well, but had to depart in haste
The highly reliable knights of Uber then spirited The Kelly to Lord Hyatt's castle that overlooked the Fields of McCormick and C2E2. He arrived at the gates prepared for adventure.
The land of C2E2 was full of many shopkeepers. Many of the wares appealed to The Kelly. Many, many of the wares.
He reluctantly left the shops, promising to return, but he had larger business to attend to. Past the cactus, a gift to all mankind, was Sir Mick of Foley. Mick and The Kelly chatted warmly and Sir Mick inscribed his tome to commemorate the event.
The Kelly then hunted some wild Gyros that frequent the Fields of McCormick and dined. The Mad Scott, Baron Brave, had sent message that The Kelly should place the mark of House Snarkalec in the public square. His will was done.
Later The Kelly gathered around the fires of many storytellers. One of the C2E2 nobles, Lady Yaya, had chosen to celebrate the gathering by dressing as if she were a bat and posed for the crowds to observe her in her finery
After gathering around the final fire of the night, the evening ended with the thought that had plagued The Kelly all day...

Rating Bad
SPOILER ALERT - this post comments on events on the current season of Breaking Bad. If you are not caught up to the current episodes and don't want to see any spoilers on these, best to move along. Oh, and shame on you.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I decided a little late that I would do some scoring for the last 8 episodes of Breaking Bad, so you'll get two episodes in this post. Characters can get scores of -2, -1, 0, +1, or +2 each week. Typically I won't comment on the "0"s. But sometimes I will. Exciting, isn't it??
Scoring is scientifically based on how awesome or unawesome I found the character in the episode. Since I am a HUGE Saul Goodman fan, he probably has a bit of an edge here. But he should, because he is awesome. Monkey in the banana patch awesome.
Season 5, episode 9 - Blood Money
Walt (0) It was like your heart wasn't into effectively lying to Jesse on the couch about not killing Mike. Plus you reminded me you killed Mike. And you called Jesse "son". Ew. Your "tread lightly" was a late save from a "-1".
Jesse (0) Props for having a soul. Score lowered due to improper appreciation of Badger's Star Trek episode.
Skyler (-1) When someone is pitching an air fresher placement strategy, you need to play more attention.
Hank (+1) Not many people can pull off an interesting "sorting through files" montage.
Marie (-2) Perhaps you could notice your husband is in full melt down mode instead of musing about vacation plans next time.
Lydia (-1) For not taking Mike's sunglasses advice and not delivering a spinning back kick to Skyler in the car wash parking lot. Plus washing a rental? Really?
Saul (+1) For calling Jesse Woody Harrelson
Francesca (+1) Is is not easy managing the 7th ring of hell waiting room.
Badger (+2) For the aforementioned Star Trek piece and how you told it. Just gotta write it down dude!
Skinny Pete (+1) For the Voyager clarification.
Season 5, episode 10 - Buried
Walt (+1) Dude can dig and has a better memory than I.
Jesse (+1) Not a single line, yet you conveyed so much.
Skyler (+1) "Am I under arrest?" was a solid follow up to "SHUT UP!". Plus you stuck Hank with the bill.
Hank (-1) Real smooth with the tape recorder Hank. Not.
Marie (+1) SLAP! But stop trying to steal things... like.. oh... a BABY.
Saul (+2) Ah Saul, "trip to Belize", "It is an option that has worked very well for you in the recent past.", "this is a safe room", "Monkey is in the banana patch"... could you be more awesome?
Hulle (+2) Was on fire this episode.. money laying, Mexico-pitching, overtime seeking FIRE. Ain't no thing!
Kuby (+2) Two words. Scrooge. McDuck. Great week for Saul and his A-Team!
Lydia (+1) While I can not understand, I respect your shoe commitment.
Todd (+1) For being the politest psychopath EVER. Your world's evilest boy scout helping the lady across the massacre aftermath was nice too. How is the tarantula doing?
Uncle Jack (+2) For the "Really?" while watching a closed-eyed Lydia tiptoe through the bloodshed, plus the "Fire in the hole!", plus you scare me.
Totals/Leader Board
If you vehemently disagree with any of the above, add a comment and I will consider your feedback and perhaps adjust. Just be more convincing than Walt on the whole "Mike thing".
Thank you and have an A-1 day!

So, want an autograph from Ving Rhames and Gerald Webb?
Of COURSE you do, and it couldn't be easier.
You may recall my post about this Internet radio thing @tonysolo, @karmic9, and I are trying out. We are 12 episodes into it - and so far so good. In fact, recently - so far so definitely good.
In episode 11 we were joined by Allison Victoria. Allison was "Girl in boat" in Swamp Shark. We thought she should have been "Girl on dock", but she straightened us out on the show. Listen and learn. Allison rocks.
In episode 12, Gerald Webb joined us. Gerald has been in a multitude of movies (where he usually dies). His appearance in Zombie Apocalypse was notable for two reasons:
- He croaked crazy fast (like within the first 10 minutes) and..
- He died wearing a HIDEOUS shirt. Actually, the term I used that night was "ugly ass shirt", but details.. details...
So, clearly Gerald knows his ugly shirts. In addition to being awesome and joining us on the show, he went to awesome level 2 by offering up the script cover page of Zombie Apocalypse (called The Last Stand at the time) with autographs from the main cast including Vhing Rhames and Gerald!!
This will be rewarded to the ugliest shirt pic we get. Gerald will be the judge.
DEADLINE EXTENDED...
You now have until WEDNESDAY JUNE 5 to send your pic!!
So....
- Find your ugliest shirt
- Snap a pic of you wearing it
- Tweet it to @tonysolo with the hashtag #uglyassshirt or email it to SnarkAlecGuest@gmail.com
- Or, sent it to me in to social network of your choice and I'll get it where it needs to go (lazy bones!)
https://sites.google.com/site/snarkalecs/information/snarkalecradio
Oh.. almost forgot. @YeungJeans of Bring Out Your Geek, and someone who blogs about 50 times better than me, recently pointed out to me that a blog post kinda sucks if it doesn't include at least one pic... so to close, here is a cat in a sombrero....

Radio waves
Hopeful radio waves
Dopeful radio waves
Roger Waters - Radio Waves
We are about 8 shows into our "SnarkAlecs" Internet radio show on Live 365's Loud N Loaded Station. Fun fact: I am incapable saying those last 6 words in order and correctly on ANY of our past shows.
So far so good. I'm very appreciative that @officialpagan * extended this opportunity to us and actually joined us for our second show. During his visit, we all bonded over our contempt of The Walking Dead's Andrea.
@yeungjeans * has done two shows with us, including a painful reliving of Troll 2. She took FOUR pages of notes to prepare for that episode. I was equally impressed and dismayed. She is simply an amazing person to talk to, and keep an eye out for her upcoming videocast Bring Out Your Geek
@Holidill joined us for the big The Walking Dead recap and even shared an interpretive dance recounting of the final episode. Interpretive dance is ALWAYS good radio (awesome Milton BTW @Holidill).
@dawnsnarks * did the next show with us, and outside of the crazy talk the chocolate wine is actually fit for human consumption, she came up aces.
@muderalotta's appearance was the perfect trifecta of Comic Con insight, collectibles, and professional wrestling tidbits.
Which brings us to my co-conspirators Mel (@kmaric9 *) and Tony (@tonysolo *). When Tony asked if I would be interested in doing this show, I did my usual .005 seconds of introspection and replied....
Sure.
I so glad I did - it has been a blast. The blend of Tony's passion and eye for the details, Mel's serious movie/book/thinkgeek cred along with her remarkable fusion of candor and kindness, and my general strangeness work well together I think. The fact we all actually are interested in what the other people have to say helps too.
I also have to thank the group of like minded folks out there that catch us live streaming off Tony's YouTube channel each Thursday around 8pm EST (and then, of course, re-listen repeatedly on Live 365). Special props to @TScottBrave for engineering some sort of combination of a golf cart, mobile phone, and neighbor's wifi to catch one show. Keep live tweeting at us with the #snarkalecs hashtag. Tony and Mel have lifted the "No Twitter for Kelly during the show" ban (focus issues, legit) and we will all keep trying to do a better job in staying on top of them live.
One of the happiest accidents in working with Tony and Mel is the following video. Mel said the "Yay Google, yay zombies" as only she can, Tony came up with the idea to mash up a bunch of folks repeating it and rounded up a bunch of volunteers, and I cobbled it together. As an extra bonus, we even cajoled Allison Victoria/@allisonvic ("Girl in Boat" in Swamp Shark) and Christina Bach/@ladystage (Dana in 2 Headed Shark Attack) to join in the fun.
Enjoy
